Food Scene Eugene is featuring three competitions throughout the weekend for guests to observe and participate in! Our competitions include: Iron Chef Eugene presented by Northwest Natural, Master Mixologist Eugene, and Lane Culinary Arts Student Bite Competition. Come and vote for in all three competitions for the People’s Choice Award at the voting stations!

Ellen Meny  is a reporter for KVAL News and host of the weekly food show, Tasty Tuesday. Tasty Tuesday features a different restaurant each week, introducing viewers to all of the culinary delights that Lane County has to offer. Ellen is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and went to school in South Carolina. She still can’t believe she gets paid to eat food.

Morgan Pharis was 2016 Master Mixologist Winner! He went on to win the Oregon Mixologist competition and is returning to Food Scene Eugene as a Master Mixologist judge.

 JP Wensel is the Co-Founder and Head Distiller of Heritage Distilling Company in Eugene. He is also an International Sommelier Guild Diplomate and Certified Specialist of Spirits. Wensel is also a practicing physician in Eugene and has been since 1998.

Alan Mathews spent his entire life in the Midwest before packing up the family and heading west to join KMTR as a morning anchor. His broadcasting career has spanned over 30 years. working for numerous stations in Illinois and Missouri. When not covering the news. Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and three dogs. He also enjoys time in the kitchen, although his eating skills are better than his cooking skills. Alan is a big movie and music fan, especially when it involves pop culture of the 70s and 80s.
